Why I am Committed to Therapy
Licensed Professional Counselor & Therapist, Tara Stangler
Tara Stangler, M.Ed., LPC, NCC; credentialed in EMDR
I personally have experienced what it is like to feel stuck, not good enough, overwhelmed, empty, like I want to isolate or hide, and know I am not myself. I know what it is like to need help and be afraid of asking for it because it could change how I see myself or how others think of me.
It can be scary to ask for help and takes a lot of courage to take the first step to come to therapy. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Therapist, I am here to make the process of asking for help easier for you. I want you to feel safe enough to work through the things that are difficult for you now and give you the confidence to work through life’s ongoing challenges on your own in the future.
We all start somewhere. As I took the first step to overcome the painful feelings of inadequacy, I learned to love myself, to be kind to myself, to know that I am enough, to understand what self-care is and what self-care I need in order to be my best self. Through my journey to learn these things, I decided to become a Licensed Professional Counselor so that I can help others. Before we even have our first session together, I want you to know that I believe that you are enough and you are worthy of loving yourself. Let’s work together to help you develop the tools needed so you can be your best self.
My professional therapy services help in: fulfilling healthy relationships, understand and eventually change relationship patterns, be your most authentic self, bring clarity to overwhelming feelings/emotions/experiences. Sometimes we get stuck, but that doesn’t mean we have to stay that way.
